Using the Windows Azure platform and a federated security model, OCG is building a multi-tenant application to be offered on a subscription basis to organizations that provide representative payee and guardianship services. The application’s functionality uniquely addresses the requirements to provide a secure solution for guiding vulnerable people’s affairs including bill payment, banking, budget management, calendaring, contacts management and reporting services.

Reporting Platform Services (Microsoft Online Services Business)
Microsoft engaged Olympic Consulting Group as the Solution Architect to unify disparate development teams and user communities leveraging the same implementation instance of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS). Over a six month timespan, OCG provided a common framework for object naming, group hierarchies, site permissions, and a formal process for deployment into the environment. The main SharePoint site collection and sub-site administration was under OCG’s direction during the duration of the engagement. Deliverables were implemented and the stewardship of processes and standards were transitioned to permanent staff. This implementation of MOSS employed Collaboration Services, Web Page Authoring, Enterprise Search, Business Intelligence (Excel Services, KPIs, Dashboards, Analysis Services, Reporting Services) PerformancePoint Server, and included some workflow management.

Contract Management and Tracking Prototype (a mechanical contractor)
Olympic Consulting Group completed a three month design, development and deployment cycle that produced a prototype construction contract management and tracking solution using SharePoint Server 2010 (beta). This solution will replace an existing home-grown patchwork of disparate applications and manual processes with a cohesive turnkey collaboration and workflow application. This implementation employs Collaboration, Document Management, List Management, Content Management / Aggregation, Search and custom InfoPath forms. Workflow features are used to track service issues, web content authoring / approval and document management processes.

Windows SharePoint Services (Northland Services, Inc.)
Northland Services engaged Olympic Consulting Group as Solution Architect to deploy and administer the corporate intranet site using Windows SharePoint Services. Originally created using Windows SharePoint Services 2.0, OCG upgraded, tested and deployed into production a new enhanced version under Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. Enhancements included site and sub-site design, access security configuration and custom web parts. OCG also provided administration services for other SharePoint-based products such as Microsoft Dynamics Business Portal.

Project Reference and Best Practices Collaboration (Microsoft Online Services Business)
Olympic Consulting Group designed and implemented a collaboration site for multiple development groups supporting Online Advertising at Microsoft. This site is threefold in purpose. First, it provides a reference to standard development practice resources (procedures and templates of project deliverables). Second, it provides configuration management for project documentation (i.e., requirement, design and release documentation). Finally, it provides a single point of reference to IT and business management who need to look up information about a particular application or system. The site provides a single user-friendly address / URL to find project information and resources. OCG’s design utilized customized SharePoint features: SharePoint sub sites, various types of customized web parts, document libraries with configuration management features (document versioning) invoked and SharePoint security to control page, library and document access. It also incorporated interactive web parts. SharePoint security was incorporated with Active Directory accounts. It is used to limit access to various site resources, based on a need to know paradigm.

Microsoft Advertising Monetization (Microsoft Online Services Business)
Olympic Consulting Group designed, created and maintained SharePoint sites to support the users of Display Advertising Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions used by over 1,000 worldwide internal users. The design of the sites are optimized for user self-service support and hosted, self-paced, web-based training, online user guides, data dictionaries and links for entering helpdesk tickets and product enhancement requests. The deliverables of the project included establishing a written set of guidelines for effective user interface design of SharePoint sites using out-of-the-box features, development of the web-based training, user guides and support materials, as well as the layout and design of the SharePoint sites, set up and maintenance of security groups and site permissions as well as periodic site updates to support new feature releases of the BI solutions.

Project Management Collaboration (Microsoft Online Services Business)
Olympic Consulting Group refurbished a project management SharePoint site. The site is dedicated to project management, common practices and data repository. The site services multiple projects under the Online Advertising support group at Microsoft and hosts project planning and budgeting material for these IT projects. The design utilizes custom SharePoint pages, web parts, document libraries, lists and search capabilities. It incorporates SharePoint document versioning and heavily relies on SharePoint security to control access to sensitive material hosted on the site (i.e., project budget details). SharePoint security groups were incorporated with Active Directory Groups to provide flexible account management.
